G-Form Elbow and Knee Pads Review

Fitting

I’ll start off with the fitting of the pads. Normal knee pads i used are size Medium and for the G-Form Knee pads i am using Medium too. They fit nicely on me without any problem. As for the elbow pads, i would suggest taking a size smaller from your knee pads unless you have big arms then you shouldn’t have any problem. 

For cruising, these pads hold on just fine and they stays in place. At some point of time, i dont even realise i have them on me. The G-Form pads are comfortable if you ask me. The pads flex and contour without hindering my movement, this is important for us because of how much we need to move legs and arms. The difference between the G-form pads and normal skate pads is that the amount of moisture on them is noticeably less because of the material which makes it more breathable.

For Freeriding, we need to rotate alot and going fast which means we will bail alot. On direct impact such as rolls, they hold on fine upon impact and if you happen to slide on the black spandex/nylon, there’s a chance for it to be rip off. From a feedback of a friend, eventhough there’s holes on them, they didnt expand with use. 

On bails where you will slide off on the pads, they will slide off from your knees/elbows because of the materials. There is a lot of friction if you’re sliding on them thus it coming off.

Conclusion

G-Form pads are great for certain aspects of skating and other sports. If you commute, looking for low profile pads, always bail on hard impacts and hate bulky knee pads, these are for you.

If you love going fast and taking on fast bails, these are not meant for you. You can wait for them to produce those pads where you can slide on them or what you can do is to wear them under your clothing. They fit nicely under it and isnt noticeable.

Upon having these pads, i have put away my bulky knee pads and elbow pads for my regular skate sesh because of how easy it is to fit in my bags taking less space. Unless i am doing fast big slides or downhill i will wear them under my bulky pads to take on the impact and let the bulky pads do the sliding.
